Metal & Alloy Analyzers
What is an alloy?
An alloy is a solution made up of two or more metal
elements or metal and non-metal elements. Alloys can be a homogeneous solid solution, a
heterogeneous mixture of tiny crystals, a true chemical compound, or a mixture of these.
Alloys tend to have properties that are uncharacterized from any of its foundation
metals, as they are engineered to have particular properties./h6>
Why is it important to identify the different alloys?
There are many reasons that identifying the various
alloys is important. In the recycling industry of scrap metals, it is important to be
able to sort out the different alloys so that the end product of the recycled goods may
be reused. In the QC/QA of every company, making sure the various metals being used in
the final product is key, such as in the aviation industry, where the metals will be
enduring various control parameters.
